Parks Cobb is the founder and CEO of SYR Solutions, L.P. He has over 43 years of professional experience with over 34 years in the energy industry, including 14 years in retail and wholesale electricity purchase and sale in the U.S and the Asia-Pacific region. At SYR Solutions, he has consulted for numerous commercial businesses and several school districts for the purchase and use of electricity. He is an expert in retail pricing, pass-through tariff structure, and strategies for buying electricity under all market conditions. For five years prior to SYR, he was a founder and minority owner of a private retail electric provider in Texas where he negotiated wholesale power purchase agreements, bought wholesale electricity to hedge the company’s retail customer portfolio, developed pricing scenarios for large retail customers, and closed retail sales with a variety of large commercial customers. Prior to 2001 and for a period of over 26 years, he was a senior executive with two major electric utility companies operating in the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific Region. Most significant was a 25 year career with Duke Energy, where he held key positions in both regulated and unregulated operations including ten years in engineering and management on the regulated side and fifteen years in unregulated businesses including founder and president or executive vice president of three unregulated subsidiaries. As the senior Duke executive in these subsidiaries, he was a member of Duke’s 40-person officer team during the period when Duke was consistently voted the best utility company in the U.S. by Fortune and other publications. His last assignment at Duke was a five-year term as Managing Director of Duke Energy Asia based in Hong Kong, where he established and managed Duke’s project development and acquisition activities in Asia and Australia. Besides the U.S., he has extensive experience in deregulated electricity markets in China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia, where Duke acquired or developed over $300 million in power projects.


Marion Cole

Mr. Cole has 32 years of diversified energy experience and is an expert in electricity service for large commercial and industrial businesses including usage analysis and forecasting, pricing, electricity supply options, energy auditing, and contract negotiation and management. He brings strong experience and expertise in renewable energy utilization and greenhouse gas reduction and has an extensive and successful background in power generation facility development, operations and management worldwide. Mr. Cole previously served as Senior Vice President of a start-up retail electric provider in Texas for 3 years and was previously Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Enron Renewable Energy Corporation, a business venture specializing in development, acquisition, and operation of wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal energy systems. Prior to that, Mr. Cole managed design and manufacturing engineering departments at Stewart and Stevenson Services, Inc. and was responsible for all gas turbine engineering including sales support, performance estimation, equipment selection, field startup and commissioning. Mr. Cole holds membership in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Chemical Engineers, the Air and Waste Management Association, and the Industrial and Cogeneration Committee of the International Gas Turbine Institute. Mr. Cole is President of Hunt International Energy Services, LLC and serves on the Board of Universal Energy, LLC. Since 2009, he has served as a senior consultant with SYR Solutions.


T.M. 'Mike' Ozymy

T.M. "Mike" Ozymy

Mr. Ozymy has over 45 years of diversified experience in the electricity business. For over 37 years he was with the Texas Utilities Company where he worked in engineering, marketing, inter-utility relations, regulatory, and legislative areas. In 1986, he was appointed Vice-President of Rates and Regulation and from 1990-97 he served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for TU Electric where he coordinated regulatory and legislative efforts for TU Electric and Association of Electric Companies of Texas (AECT) in the 70th, 71st, 72nd, 73rd, 74th and 75th Texas Legislatures. He testified before various legislative committees and represented TU Electric and AECT in negotiations of major legislation for electric utility industry restructuring. Earlier Mr. Ozymy worked in bulk power system planning, relay systems planning and design, transmission substation design and construction, commercial and industrial marketing, sales, and service and inter-utility relations with ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) members. With ERCOT members, he was intimately involved in contract negotiations for power exchange, transmission access, control area services, power and energy scheduling, and other operational services among members. In his executive roles at Texas Utilities, he addressed prudence reviews of TU Electric’s nuclear plants and handled major nuclear plant rate cases, fuel reconciliations and applications for certificates for construction and other types of dockets before the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

After early retirement in 1997, Mr. Ozymy provided legislative and regulatory consulting services to Texas Utilities from 1997-99 and from 1999-2009 he has provided consulting services to independent power producers and industrial and commercial retail electricity consumers in Texas. He currently serves as a Senior Advisory Consultant to SYR Solutions, L.P.


Samantha Wright

Samantha Wright

Manager, Contracts and Pricing


Samantha Wright is the Manager of Contracts and Pricing for SYR and an expert in electricity pricing and invoice analysis. Besides responsibilities for pricing and contract administration, she also conducts initial and renewal sales to businesses of all sizes. She has fourteen (14) years of experience in sales, marketing, and administration and joined SYR in early 2007. For three years prior to SYR, she was Sales and Marketing Coordinator for OEM Power Systems, a Rowan Companies subsidiary, where she worked in the sales department compiling sales quotes, assisting in quote tracking, receipt of purchase orders, review of purchase orders to original quote provided to customer, inputting orders into MRP system and distributing new orders and associated change orders to appropriate departments. She also organized and managed all aspects of OEM’s industry events, trade shows and conferences, domestic and international, as well as worked with its sister companies for such events. For four years prior to OEM, she worked for Criterion Catalysts & Technologies L.P., a subsidiary of Shell Oil Products, where she was responsible for organizing and managing worldwide industry, customer, and internal events, developing the corporate conference marketing plan and budget, managing travel for the sales department, developing and maintaining a competitive database for sales and technical service departments, and was trained as an emergency and first aid "first responder" in the workplace and received ISO 9000 training in sales and customer service. Prior to Criterion, she was Director of Catering at major clubs and hotels in the Philadelphia, PA. and Houston, TX areas.


Linda Somyak

Linda Somyak

Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant


Ms. Somyak provides specialized financial, accounting, and auditing support services for SYR Solutions for client accounts and for the company itself. She has over 20 years of diverse accounting, administrative, and purchasing experience with law firms and other types of businesses. Her responsibilities have included accounting, banking, tax filing and financial statement preparations, purchasing via competitive bidding, business insurance and Workers Compensation, and audit of accounts payable and receivable. For the last 9-years she has worked almost exclusively in accounting and has provided full service bookkeeping and accounting for several businesses. She is an expert in application of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software.
